Alana was born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico, where her love for fashion was shaped by the island’s rhythm, color, and spirit. She apprenticed under designer Lisa Thon for NYFW at just 15 years old and has since trained with Elie Tahari, Anna Sui, and Isabel Toledo.

Alana earned her B.F.A. in Fashion Design from the Savannah College of Art & Design and a Master’s in Business at the Universitat de Barcelona.

Returning to New York, Alana has led teams in brands including Nine West, Lauren Conrad and Candie's. She's also collaborated with other fashion creatives like Scott Schumann, Jenny Walton, and Ralph Lauren.

Sazón debuted at NYFW & Paris Fashion Week in 2025, enjoying global media coverage and widespread acclaim.

Today, Alana leads Sazón as founder and creative director; a brand rooted in romance, craftsmanship, and identity. Sazón is both a carta de amor to Puerto Rico and a vision for where fashion can go.

At its heart, Sazón is about strengthening Latina identity through style.
